Who Is A Lazy Christian?

Anthony Robbins

Christianity is a lifestyle of Jesus Christ. When Jesus was on planet earth, He was not lazy. He was about His Father, Master calling. He worked while it is called today. He disciple people who were engaged in their profession. Jesus did not mentor mediocre. Truly, He called the foolish to become wise, the ordinary to become extraordinary, the poor to become rich, the sick to become well and so on. But the point is; He told the people and mentor them on the dignity of labour, taught them the laws or principles of sowing and reaping, the laws of designing a building, the laws of fishing, laws and principles of the kingdom etc.

Today Christians are looking for short-cut to the miracles. They want favour without labour. The counsel of God to all Christians is in Romans 12:11 “Not Slothful in Business: Fervent in Spirit, Serving The Lord.”

Who then is a lazy Christian?

-A lazy Christian want to be blessed on the field without going to the field to labour and harvest.

-A lazy Christian want to harvest from where he has not planted. I believe the word of God that says you will reap where you have not planted. I also believe that for every promise in the Bible, there is a condition attached to it. What I know very well that I enjoy and everybody enjoys from God without asking Him, is His Goodness and Mercy.

-A lazy Christian want to reap without sowing. He doesn’t want to be engage in a Job, business, trade that will give him money but he wants to have money

-A lazy Christian claim God’s promises always without obeying the conditions to the promises.

-A lazy Christian claim things by faith, even things that belong to other people without the work and walk of faith. The Bible says; faith without works is dead.

-A lazy Christian wait on people while purpose driven Christians wait on God… “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2

-A lazy Christian can almost beg for anything to survive in life. Purpose driven Christians work for what they need but trust and praise God for the supply of their needs and want… Philp 4:19

-A lazy Christian is without clarity of where he/she is going in life. Therefore, he cannot get help from God. If you are not ready to set the sail, God will not send the wind in your favour. It takes personal responsibility for one’s life to set the sail. God will not do it for you. He will do it with you.

-A lazy Christian most times find it difficult to obey Daily MUST Do faith activities. They are lazy in doing quiet time with God, lazy in studying the Bible, lazy in waiting upon the Lord, lazy in family devotion, lazy in evangelism etc.

-A lazy Christian makes provision for the flesh and not the Spirit of God. The opportunity to sin will be available for the Christian that lives, walk in flesh through slothfulness.

My prayer is that we will all overcome laziness in our Christian walk in Jesus name. This is a new day and you can turn a new live. You can overcme today by repenting of your sin of laziness. Laziness, a lifestyle for some, is a temptation for all. But the Bible is clear that, because the Lord ordained work for man, laziness is sin. “Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise” (Proverbs 6:6)

Make up your mind today that for the rest of your life, you will live a purpose driven life. Let your purpose, passion wake you up to action each day.

The book of proverbs in the Bible has much to say about laziness. Go through this references and discover more for yourself….. Proverbs 21:25, 26:13,14,16, 18:9, 12:24, 20:4, 13:4 and more.
