What Goes Around Comes Around

Be not deceived; God is not mocked for whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. Galatians 6:7

Many years ago in the state of Louisiana, there was a man who was an infidel.
He did not believe in God. He did not care about God. He did not care for the things of God. There was a little gospel church by his house. He despised the pastor and the members. He always complained that they were disturbing him night after night.

A day came, that he was in the church in anger with his walking stick in his hand. He walked boldly down the aisle and stood in front of the pastor as he ministered. With his walking stick in his hand, he pointed at the pastor and said; “You stupid man, you are disturbing us in this neighbourhood with your all-night prayer. I have told you to pack and move out of this place but you refused. Now I have come to teach you a lesson.”

Then he hit the pastor on the forehead with his walking stick right in front of the congregation. Some members stood up to react but the pastor restrained them. The man promised to come back and do more than that if they failed to move out. He forgot that there is a God who cannot be mocked, who recompenses every man according to the work of his hand.

In anger he got into his car and drove away. As he was driving, he got involved in a car accident. He was thrown out of his car through the windshield and hit his head on a tree, right at the very spot where he hit the pastor and died instantaneously.

His family could not find a church to conduct his funeral service. They ended up coming to the pastor he had abused earlier. The pastor graciously agreed. But because the accident had shattered his skull, the casket was closed throughout the service.

Towards the end of the service, someone began to speak in tongues. Another person on the other side of the church who did not even know anything about what had happened began to interpret what was being spoken in tongues. This was the interpretation: “Thus saith the Lord, as he has hit my servant on the forehead, so also has the Holy Spirit fatally hit him on the forehead.”

What kind of seed have you been sowing? Consider your ways! God is not a respecter of persons.
