Fainting In Recession

Today is special in my life because it is my birthday and this is my gift to you.

The word of God says; “If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” Proverbs 24:10

Fainting in economy recession is a sign of weakness and not strength. It shows the level of maturity. It shows the measure of a person’s capacity to stand against all odd. Recession has no capacity to steal and kill anyone emotionally, mentally, financially and spiritually. Nonetheless, recession/famine period could kill happy marriages/homes, joyful life, blossom financial life, profitable business, promising career, etc. if allowed by negative thought life, negative confessions, sinful lifestyle, unbelief, hopelessness and lack of foresight, companying with unfriendly friends and neglect of personal responsibilities of life.

There must be recession. There must be hard times. The current recession in Nigeria, is not the first time and it will not be the last. A recession or famine could be a divine interruption for you to seek God. Many are on vacation from God. But the recession has made them to seek Him.

Tough time’s never last but tough people do.

Why would you give up at this time? This is the worse time to give up on your dreams, your goals. This is the worse time to compromise your convictions on finance, business ethics, marriage, family, faith in Christ. This is the best time to be creative, think outside the box, and look for legitimate opportunities to generate more income. Make no mistake, there are no short-cuts. Every short-cuts with the same level of maturity will eventually lead to bankruptcy thereafter.

This is the best time to look inward and not outward for help. These are period of inspiration and divine counsel. Don’t close your mind at this time. Open your mind to God’s leading. This is the time to seek and embrace God’s ideas. This is the best time to be alive.

And it came to pass. This recession has come and it will pass. Therefore, don’t sell your birthright like Esau and your soul like Judas Iscariot. There is no wisdom in settling for something that will not last the test of time. Don’t gamble with your soul and future prospects at a time like this. Be content with what you have but seek more genuinely.

A brother and a friend, had a temporary family recession but his wife left him at the time he needed her most. She thought he would never overcome the recession. She never knew the recession came to pass and not to stay in that family. She threw away family values because of a mere family recession and not even national recession. She did not see future prospects in the family again. She left for another man. That is sin against God because God hate divorce. Today, that my friend and brother is a millionaire in dollars because he refused to give up during a temporal famine. DON’T GIVE UP!

This is not the time to depend only on one source of income. Nigeria as a nation has long depended on oil. We are experiencing the negative impact of that today. The current government is seriously working to diversify the economy. Be creative with your certificates and career. Instead of thinking and planning how to beat the corrupt and porous system in your organization, employment to your advantage to cushion the effect of the recession, add something legitimate to your job and opportunity

God want you and me to have positive disposition to recession and to life generally. Smile, laugh, be happy, and be joyful even in recession. There is no casting down for you but lifting up this period. A friend in my office asked me like thrice that what my secret is. He said I always look calm and without worry. I simply told him that Jesus is my secret. If you have Jesus, there is nothing to worry about. Do what you need to do legitimately as your own responsibility and God will take care of everything you have committed to His trust. “At destruction and famine thou shalt laugh: neither shalt thou be afraid of the beasts of the earth.” Job 5:22

In times like this you need a Savior, an anchor to help you overcome challenges of life. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” Psalm 23:1

My birthday prayer for you is in Proverbs 30:30; “A lion which is strongest among beast and turneth not away for any. May you be strengthen and strong against recession in Jesus name. Recession will turn away from you because you have the capacity to face it and conquered. May you be directed in wisdom to do what is right at this time. Receive the boldness to say no to sin, compromises and evil of this time in Jesus name. You will not faint in recession. You will prosper and flourish in recession in Jesus name, amen.

Happy Birthday to me
